I am very happy to be taking place in the Hero Arts Winter 2020 Release Blog Hop. It’s been a while since I’ve been paper crafty, our new puppy is high maintenance, but worth it! It was so much fun to get to play with some new items from Hero Arts, and I hope you like these clean and simple holiday gift tags.
I was talking to a friend about tags, and realized that I like to make them because they’re “mini” cards, and miniature items seem to be more fun by default. You know, like miniature appetizers, desserts, etc. Is it just me?

Using the Tag Infinity die set, I cut tags from both Kiwi and Palm Hero Hues cardstock, four of each color. I embossed four different sentiments from the Off-Beat Holiday Messages stamp set on the tags, silver on the Kiwi and gold on the Palm cardstock.

Setting the tags aside, I cut the Christmas Lights Border Die six times from heavy white cardstock, and then once from both silver and gold metallic paper. I adhered three of the white die cuts together, twice, to make two thicker die cuts. Once those dried I colored the ornaments with copic markers, intentionally leaving a small white area on each bulb to create a “glare”. I used RV29 for what would end up surrounded by silver and R29 for the gold. This got coated with a layer of glossy accents and set aside to dry.

Using detail scissors, I carefully cut off each ornament from the metallic die cuts. Using liquid glue I adhered the metallic “frames” to the colored die cuts and stepped back to admire how awesome these looked. 😉

To assemble the tags I used some heavy duty scissors and cut the borders into strips. Using thin double sided tape, I adhered a piece to each tag and trimmed off the excess. I loved the way that turned out, and decided to add a bit more silver and gold to the bottom of the tag using a glue pen and a piece of foil transfer paper. It just takes a small amount of foil and ends up adding so much to the finished tag.
Now there is a small place on the front of the tag where you could write the recipient’s name if you like, or just leave it blank and use the entire back for a brief message.

Thank you for visiting me today, the next stop on the hop is my talented friend Lori Craig, I can’t wait to see what she’s made. To see the full list of participants, please make sure to go to the Hero Arts Blog.
Hero Arts will be giving away three $50 gift cards, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by leaving a comment between now and Sunday, September 6th at 11:59pm Pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.
