Good morning! I am thrilled to be sharing this tag with you today. It features Concord & 9th products and is part of Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags.
It’s actually quite an easy “tag” to make, and thought it would be darling on a gift as it can double as a Christmas ornament. Here’s how I made it:
- Die cut two pieces of felt using the ornament shaped die from Concord & 9th’s Ornamental Die set.
- Using double sided adhesive, adhere some felt onto a piece of sturdy cardstock.
- Place some double sided adhesive on the back of the cardstock as well, so that after the sentiment is die cut, the back will also have adhesive on it. Cut out the Merry from this piece of felted cardstock.
- Tack the sentiment in place on one of the pieces of felt you’ve cut out into the ornament shape. Because this had adhesive on the back of it, I was able to do wee stitches in the tiny parts of the sentiment to keep it in place. I didn’t want to cover up too much of this gorgeous die.
- Align the two ornament shaped felt pieces together, and stitch around the edges. I did a blanket stitch. Don’t let me fool you, I had to google a video for instructions.
- Stitch about 3/4 of the way around the ornament and then stuff it with fiberfill. You can get that at your local craft store, or even online. It’s inexpensive, and I’m fairly sure that it reproduces on its own as I’ve had my bag for a few years and haven’t made a dent.
- Once you’ve stuffed the ornament to your liking, finish stitching all the way around.
- Cut the ornament cap from felt, I chose a light grey to mimic silver.
- Stitch the ornament cap onto the ornament. I did this loosely following the stitched lines from the die cut.
- Add a length of embroidery floss as a hanger.
- Marvel at your handmade ornament.
I hope you’ll be sure to check out all of the tags today, by clicking on this graphic, Tracey will have them linked on her blog. I’ve seen sneaks of them, and they’re gorgeous!

Pretty felt tag but I would definitely use it as an ornament. π It would be an “heirloom.” π Good job!
