Die Cutting Challenge

The latest challenge at A Blog Named Hero is all about die cutting. And I was lucky enough to have this sort of fall into place. Last month, I was creating invitations for a friend’s 50th birthday party using the Louie’s 123 dies from Lawn Fawn. I was cutting the 5 and 0 from glitter paper and refused to discard the center of the 0, since it was so gorgeous. Then, inspiration struck. I would somehow use it for this die cutting challenge.

I made a repeating pattern of the ovals on the front of a card base. Trimmed off the edges. Added some gorgeous sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, who is our collaboration partner this month, and then proceeded to spend days figuring out if I was going to use any further embellishments. Which means, there are variations to this card. 🙂 I’ll only show you one of them.

I couldn’t decide which I liked better. I happen to be a big fan of the color green, and I think that this version looks very rich. And I also love the first version for its elegance. These will go to some couples that are marrying in the next month, so I’m glad I was able to make them.

Please join us in this challenge, our generous sponsor, Simon Says Stamp, is offering a $25 gift voucher to their store, and it’s Stamptember! Lots to buy.
