Happy Birthday Friend

Good morning! It’s that special time of the month, a new release is out from Concord & 9th. Is it me, or do they just top themselves every single month? I don’t know how they do it.

We have an Anything Goes challenge theme this month and that made me want to use “Hello, Lovely!” I just don’t use this set enough.

Here’s the card I made:

I used a light colored ink, Barely Beige, from Simon Says Stamp to stamp the floral cluster twice on the card front. I used the stamp images that are meant to fill in some of that large cluster, to, well, fill in the florals and leaves. Now, I likely did not do this correctly, however, that’s the charm of this stamp set. It’s not meant to be or look perfect, so therefore, I’m an expert.

I used a few different ink cubes from Hero Arts, and the best part was that the color shading was done for me. I think those cube assortments are a great way to build a collection of ink colors, without breaking the bank, or becoming overwhelmed with storage needs.

After I filled in what I could with stamps, I used Derwent Inktense pencils to add some details, and also to loosely watercolor some other areas that needed a little something something. Really, this was a very easy card to make, and I think I need to sit down and make a few, in different colors, and leave the sentiments off so I can complete them as I need them.

Here you can see where I used my Wink of Stella pen to go over the dots that the cluster stamp stamps. They’re very subtle, since I used a light ink color, but I wanted to add a little bit of shimmer to them. The sentiment comes from the new, and highly adorable, Hi There Bear stamp set. I made this for a friend who has a birthday coming up in January; I hope she loves it.

Make sure to join us for the challenge this month at Where Creativity Meets C9. There is a $25 gift certificate for one winner, and another winner gets to guest design with us!

I hope you have a wonderful Holiday season.

Lisa
