Happy Day

Good morning! Today we start a new challenge at A Blog Named Hero, and it’s Crafter’s Choice. Which means, anything goes as long as you use products from Hero Arts!

I decided to make a shaped card using the Nesting Hearts Dies, and turned it into a half Valentine’s Day, half “let’s get a puppy” card. Ha! I used kraft cardstock, folded into a card shape, and cut it with the largest heart die, letting the edge hang over, so that the die cut a shaped folded card rather that a die cut shape. I did that twice then adhered them on top of each other so that this would be a tri-fold card. This is easy to do since the shape is symmetrical.

I used a dog image from an older set from Hero Arts, because that’s the sort of dog I’d like. A happy tail wagging red one! Okay, really, a Golden Retriever, but that’s the same thing. Any cute image would work perfectly here. I stamped him using Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder on top of some scrap red cardstock. That cardstock was cut with one of the heart dies and I cut three of them, and stacked them on top of each other so it would have some weight, and help keep the card closed. On the card front I embossed an older cling dot background stamp with clear embossing powder, just for a little something something on the front.

This picture shows the left flap of the card opened, which reveals a sentiment on the inside.

This picture shows the second, or right, flap opened, to the final sentiment. I plan to give this to my husband for Valentine’s Day. He will love the dog on the front, as he is also ready for a new puppy to join the family. Now, we just have to find one that needs a good home.

I hope you will join us with this challenge. It’s an easy one to join, and there are prizes to be won!
