It’s already our third challenge over at Where Creativity Meets C9. Time really does fly as you’re having fun. Also, as you get older. Ahem. 🙂 The challenge this month is Sparkle and Shine, which means holiday goodies!
Before I get to my tags, I want to remind you that our challenge sponsor is the awesome Concord & 9th and the prizes are a $25 gift certificate to a random winner plus a guest designer position offered to the best entry! You have until the 29th of this month to enter the challenge, so get cracking.
I make a lot of handmade goodies for the holidays. Baked goods, crocheted items, things like that. And by the time I’ve completed the gift I don’t have the desire to make a card. This year I thought I’d get a head start with some tags.
Using the Tree Ring background stamp and some versamark, I embossed the image with some Ranger Gold Tinsel embossing powder. This is a must have in your stash. It’s so beautiful. Really, click there, I’ll wait while you order some.
I cut the cardstock down into two inch strips, which is the perfect side for the Bags & Tags dies. I also used the circle reinforcement die from the same set to cut out some felt. I use bamboo vegan felt, which means no animals were harmed in the making of my reinforcements. I purchased a sampler from a store on Etsy, and am so happy with it. Great feel, fantastic colors, good price point.
I sponged on a bit of distress ink along the bottom, just for some interest. And to match the reinforcement felt color. To reinforce the reinforcement, if you will. 🙂
Then used some stamps from the Lots of Blots stamp set to complete the tags.
That’s it for these simple tags. Now I just need to make about twenty more. Make sure to join the challenge and we’d love it if you followed along on our journey, you can find us over on Instagram and Facebook.
