Happy October 9th to you! The 9th of the month means it’s new release day at Concord & 9th, and it’s a good one! The 9th also means it’s time for a new challenge at Where Creativity Meets C9 and this month we’re choosing to work with “Shades of Concord & 9th“, which means we are using the colors from the Concord & 9th logo as inspiration.
I used a few images from the Hope stamp set to make my background, using four different colors of oxide inks. I also used a single image from the Flower Turnabout set to fill in some of the white space on the background.
To highlight the sentiment, I used a stitched circle die to cut out a panel from the card front. I used that same circle die on a strip of black cardstock so that I could “seamlessly” layer the sentiment on the circle.
As a final finishing touch, I added some Nuvo drops in black, and used my Gold Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to sprinkle some gold specks on the card. I just shook the pen over the card, that seemed to do the trick.
I do hope you’ll join us this month for our challenge. It actually was a challenge for me as I don’t naturally lean toward using blue. And I loved that about it. Step out of our creative box a little bit. There’s a gift certificate to Concord & 9th to be won, and a guest designer spot. Good luck!
