I was lucky enough to finally find the time to visit a local store today, one that I’ve been meaning to get to for about a month. It’s called Verde Maison, which means Green House, I think.
First, it’s a boutique located a few miles from my house. I am often in the area but never have the time to go in, really. And to be honest, I’m not much of a boutique kind of girl. I don’t like shopping, I like neither being hounded while shopping, nor being ignored. I’m picky.
The tagline of this store is: "Because sometimes the most important ingredient is not what you put in but what you leave out". This is the first brick & mortar natural organic body retailer in the USA to carry only lines free of parabens, propylene glycol, sls (sodium laurel/laureth sulfates) and petrolatum. That is my kind of skin care.
I walk in covered in Tucker hair. I had just come from the Vet, he was waiting patiently in the car. He loves his doggy spa days, so he understands why Momma needs one too! Even if mine is "to-go". The place is gorgeous. It looks just like it’s name, but not snooty. It’s warm and inviting. I am greeted by someone behind the counter and I immediately like her. Thank G-d! Seriously, there is nothing worse that walking into a fishbowl retail location and having to ‘browse’ so you can escape as soon as possible!
I tell her that I need a night time moisturizer. She tells me to have a seat and brings me a few to try. I eventually figure out which one I want. One of the nicest things is that it’s a no pressure environment. It’s "figure out which one you like, it’s not necessarily going to be the most expensive, but that’s okay." I ended up with some Logona Night Cream. Super organic stuff from Germany. $21 for 50ml. Not too bad.
I also got a few other things. Won’t go into too many details since Robert reads this. Hi Honey! :O)
I’ll post more once I use everything and fall in love. This place is uber cool. (Did I just use "uber" because I purchased a German product? Hmm.) They have an online store, and they ship for free if you spend $150. Sounds like a lot, but I’m just saying that’s an achievable goal.
