Why does pasta always come in such a big box? Why is there one pound of pasta when all I need is enough for one person? I can’t imagine that it’s just me, but I don’t like the idea of storing an opened pasta box in my pantry. I have no idea why, it’s some OCD thing, I’m sure. I don’t live somewhere where critters will get into the box. I didn’t grow up somewhere where critters got into boxes.
I don’t even know if critters know how to open the pantry door.
I just want pasta to come in smaller size packaging. Just my rant of the day. Hmmm, I might even make that the tag.

I completely agree. i have glass jars I pur the pasta into, but often the bag is just too much! So I can’t buy pasta unless I am making it that night so that I use the overflow that won’t fit into the jar…

It’s amazing how much better I feel now that someone’s agreed with me! Glass jar, I’ll have to try that. Thanks for the idea!

Awhile ago I bookmarked a great idea from Martha for re-purposing cereal boxes. I’m sure you could use pasta boxes instead. These gift boxes are neat too and look pretty easy to make.
P.S. I’m totally outing myself as a craft dork. 🙂

Thanks Mymsie. Those are great ideas. Now, if only I could re-purpose the pasta box as a smaller pasta box. :O)

it’s not OCD,good common sense! one time we got an infestation of weevils in some old corn meal, and I had to spend an enitre day taking everything out of the pantry, wiping everything down, dustbusting them out and throwing most everything away, just awful!!

That’s why they sell those fancy pasta jars for which I have no room on my counter, so I end up with half boxes of pasta. But then the family gets the fun mixed pasta bowl one night for dinner! You know, a little ziti, and a little penne, and some shells…
