Ranger Oxide Foam Storage Tip

Edited July 21, 2018 to include the latest release of Oxide inks, and future inks. Why waste printing ink? So you’ll have a few blanks until the rest of the Oxide inks come out later this year.

A few months ago I saw this amazing idea from Lizzie Jones for storing blending foam. I was inspired by that to make my own system for Distress Oxide inks. And since I just got the most recent dozen that were released, I updated my system, and thought I’d share the pdf files here for anyone that might want to make use of the same format.

Here’s a peak of the instagram post that I shared earlier today, and since people seem interested, I’ve linked the files below.

You should be able to click on those links above and the pdf will open in a new window. You can either print from there or save to your computer. The first time I did this I printed on heavy Neenah cardstock. This time just copy paper. They’re not being used except to represent a color, so no need for the good stuff. πŸ™‚

They are set up to print on US Letter paper. Just print, and then either cut in half for use in a half sheet size binder, like I use, or slide it in to a full sheet page protector for a letter size binder. But if you do that one, don’t tell me, I have orientation issues. πŸ™‚

Let me know if you have any questions.

Oh! And these are the velcro dots I purchased for this. Seems like a lot, especially since I’m only using the “rough” dots, but maybe someone crafty will come up with a use for the other side!

This is perfect! I’m like you, don’t want handles for each color. I’ve struggled with how to deal with the foams for each color. Thank you so much!!

This is a great idea! Currently I’m using the coin pocket sheets, and have the swatch in the front and the pad in the back with the inked side facing out so its pretty from the back too. For the amount I craft, that will work for me for a long time before any of the swatches get too messy and need to be redone. I don’t know if you will store this with your other ink swatches (if you have them) but I like that mine will stay with all the other brands for easy referencing and decision making. I usually don’t pick ink by its properties, but more for its shade, then I’ll take advantage of its properties while using it. I’ll be back to download if my current plan backfires though!

Thanks for this, Lisa! I had been storing mine on the bottom side of the ink pads with velcro dots, but that gets messy, particular if you stack the ink pads on top of each other. Not to mention I have a kitten who loves to steal my foam pads! LOL I’m going to make my own sheets for my Catherine Pooler inks too.

Yes! I used to do the velcro on the bottom of the pad, but that becomes a hot mess. And oddly, I can’t remove that ink from the label below it. Ha. I need new labels for my ink pads. πŸ™‚

Mine are that way too! Bright side, we are using them (better than just sitting in a drawer drying up!)!!!

LOVE this! It is exactly what I was going to do and now do not have to recreate the wheel! Thank you so very much!

Tim Holtz mentioned that the other 24 colors of oxide will be available by the end of 2018. I hope you will share an update with all 60 colors! (Pretty PLEASE with sugar on top!!?!)

I am finally making a dent in my organization and saved your post so I knew right where to go for my oxide foam pads. No more fumbling around in my basket trying to figure if I’ve got the right one anymore, yay! THANK YOU so very much for sharing this!

    Hi Lisa!

Just wanted to say thank you ? for sharing this idea and for the file download. I’m now the proud owner of a very very useful folder of beautifully organised and easily accessed blending foams that I’m actually using more.
Now on to the next organising job of my never ending list!
