We tried the recycled toilet paper. I wish I had better things to say about it, I just don’t.
While it wasn’t as bad as some toilet paper I have encountered whilst on an airplane, a train, or overseas, I won’t be buying it again. I will try other brands as I see them, to see if I can find the perfect replacement for my virgin-tree toilet paper. (Wow, saying it like that really makes me feel guilty.)
I don’t know how to determine which is better for us. With the toilet paper that we sampled, I know that I had to use more to get that ‘fresh’ feeling that I like after using the toilet. The fact that it doesn’t stay on the roll very well, while bothersome, would not prevent me from buying it again. That’s something I would just get used to, a minor annoyance. I can’t get over the toilet paper itself, it just didn’t do the job properly.
I am sad about that, believe me. So, here’s my idea. I went to Charmin’s website, my preferred toilet paper supplier. I sent them an email, using their contact form, asking them when they were going to create an environmentally friendly product, using recycled paper. Bleach-free as well, of course. I think we should all click on that link and send them a similar message. If they see that consumers are interested in such a thing, maybe they’ll bring it to market sooner. They have to be working on something like this, right?
