Essentials by Ellen United We Flourish – Concord & 9th

There is a new United We Flourish stamp set at Ellen Hutson today and it’s a collaboration with Concord & 9th! And it is awesome, of course.

You have likely arrived here from Carolyn Peeler’s blog, and I welcome you to my little piece of the blog world.

Now, before I get to my project I wanted to explain to you why it truly is an honor to have been invited to participate in this blog hop.

I was lucky enough to get to go to CHA a few years ago and happened to be in the right place at the right time and met both Ellen Hutson and Julie Ebersole. I will try to put into words how absolutely wonderful these ladies are. Genuine. Sincere. Full of light. Both of them. And Ellen gives the most amazing hugs. It makes me happy to get to meet the people “behind the scenes” of our favorite crafting businesses, and know that my money goes to support real people, making a difference.

Now, as far as Concord & 9th goes. Wow. What a duo Angie and Greg are, they’re absolutely amazing. I got to meet Angie a few months ago and oh my gosh, she’s more awesome in person than you think a human being can actually be. Funny. Genuine. Snarky. All of my favorite things. I am certain that Greg must be the same way, I just haven’t met him yet. I absolutely love and adore all of the Concord & 9th products. So absolutely innovative, every single month. I don’t know how they do it, but I’m glad that they do.

So, it truly was an honor to me to be asked to participate. Now, enough with the gushing, let’s get on with the pictures.

First, here’s a graphic showing the entire stamp and die set. Sweet Sprinkles anyone?

I love how the sentiments can you be used for other images, and the images can be used with many other stamp sets that you might own. Versatility makes me happy. Also, when I was playing with this set, I happened to flip the dies over and notice that “yum” spells “muy” if you use it in reverse. Now, I know that’s obvious, but I see some muy cute cards in my very near future. 😉

I saw this ice cream cone die and knew that I had to go graphic with this set. I’d been hoarding some Ellen Hutson woodgrain cardstock and found the perfect use for it as my card base. I chose some colors of card stock from my scrap pile and due cut three cones from each color. I layered them on top of each other for some dimension.

I used foam tape to mount them to the card base because I like to see the shadows that those popped up embellishments create, makes it more fun to me, somehow. For the sentiment, I used some white embossing powder on a piece of grey card stock, cutting it out with one of the circle dies from the Orange You Sweet die set from Concord & 9th.

And that’s it, a pretty simple yet fun card. I am kind of in love with it. That woodgrain paper makes me swoon. Maybe I should use it rather than hoard it. ?

This last picture is just a bit of fun. As I was adhering the three layers of the die cuts together I had them laid out on my work surface and thought they looked like shark fins. So, if anyone out there has a need for a shark fin for a paper crafting project, this is the die for you!

Next on this gorgeous blog hop is the wonderfully talented Carly Tee Minner. Make sure to go check out what she’s made. Also, as with any good blog hop, there are prizes to be won!

To celebrate, two randomly selected commenters will win a $30 gift certificate to the Ellen Hutson shop and two commenters will win a $30 gift certificate to the Concord & 9th shop. To enter just leave a comment on the Ellen Hutson Classroom blog, or the Concord & 9th blog by 12pm PST on December 26th.

Here is the entire blog hop list, you will definitely want to see all of the inspiration we have for you.

Great shark fin card ! Like the cheerful colours you’ve used on your card, it makes me think of a flower with your sentiment circle or we have a memory game here called Simon & it looks like that & when the bright sections light up in a pattern you have to remember the order then play it back, don’t mean any offence, please don’t take it that way x
