Whole Foods Totally Rocks

We shop at Whole Foods. I’m of the mindset that if we can’t get it at Whole Foods, we don’t get it anywhere. Obvious exclusions are things we get from Costco! ;o)

Tonight I was there and wanting to buy some yogurt. We’ve tried a few brands from there before, never really loving any of them. I am a fan of Yoplait Fat Free yogurt, which probably isn’t even yogurt, or not true yogurt. Since I wasn’t sure which brand to try next, I asked the two Whole Body (work in the beauty/vitamin section) ladies their opinion. They were stocking shelves, and talking to someone from the Butcher department, whom I recognized.

One lady recommended her favorite, which was made from Buffalo milk, and thank g-d, I didn’t like the idea of plain, vanilla or honey. I didn’t want to show my prejudice against the Buffalo. Someone suggested another brand which I had tried before and didn’t like. Then, the Butcher man (no name tag) said “I have an idea, why don’t you try some?”

“What? I can do that?”

Sure, we want you to be happy, and we do it all the time. Let me get you a spoon.

Yay!

I tried one, too yogurt-smelling for me. And runny.

Tried the second one and it didn’t smell as bad as the first, but I didn’t love the flavor/texture. As I’m trying to figure out a way to get the heck out of the dairy department the Butcher says to me, “try my old standard, the most expensive one!”

So I did. It is delicious! And fun.

It’s called Fage, pronounced Fa-Yeh. It’s a greek yogurt, which I’ve never tasted before. It’s nice, thick. Not runny at all. And the fruit comes in its own compartment, so you get to mix the two together. Who doesn’t love playing with their food?

Thanks Whole Foods and the two Whole Body Ladies and the Butcher. You guys rock!
