Winter Thank You

winter

It’s time for our new challenge over at Where Creativity Meets C9, and this month it’s all about Winter. Which I love. And since I live in the desert, our winter comes across in a very subtle way. Chilly nights. Cool breezes. It’s really the reason we all put up with the summer heat.

challenge-4

I translated that into cool blue cardstock and embossed vellum. No snow flakes for this girl!

I stamped and embossed the large flower from Hello Lovely a few times onto some vellum cardstock. Then I just fussy cut around most of the individual elements, and started layering them onto the same image, which I’d embossed onto some colored cardstock. I’m not a naturally enthusiastic fussy cutter, but this was a bit therapeutic today, and wasn’t so bad.

I used glue dots to adhere the bits and pieces to the cardstock, and on the pieces that are long and delicate, I left a bit of a “tail” so that I could use that area for the adhesive, and then tuck it under the main floral image.

A simple embossed sentiment from the new Kindhearted stamp set, and then some sequins, and this card is complete. It’s simple, yet fussy. Sort of like someone I know.

I hope you’ll join us this month, there’s a $25 gift certificate to Concord and 9th to be won!
